How can I support the community with Bunnings Rewards?
When you shop in-store with Bunnings Rewards, you can help support communities across Aotearoa through the manaaki Collection Box. Simply scan your digital Bunnings card at checkout and collect a token from our team. You can then place your token in the manaaki Collection Box for the featured community group you’d like to support.
Every two months, Bunnings donates a share of an $18,000 donation pool to the three community groups featured on the manaaki Collection Box. The group with the most customer support receives the largest share, helping make a meaningful difference in communities across Aotearoa.
To take part, you must be a Bunnings Rewards member and shop in-store using your digital Bunnings card. The manaaki Collection Box is currently an in-store initiative and tokens are not available for online purchases.
When do I receive a community token?
You'll receive one community token for each eligible in-store transaction when you shop with Bunnings Rewards and scan your digital Bunnings card at the time of purchase. There is no minimum spend required.
Community tokens are available when you shop in-store only and are not available for online purchases. If you forget to collect your token during your visit, please speak with a team member before leaving the store.
Some purchases may not be eligible to receive a token, including gift card purchases and other excluded products or services.
What if I don't want to sign up to Bunnings Rewards? Can I still get a community token?
Is this an ongoing initiative or a trial with an end date?
The Manaaki Collection Box is a community initiative within Bunnings Rewards, designed to help customers support community groups when they shop in-store.
We review our community initiatives on an annual basis to ensure they continue to deliver value for our customers and communities. As part of this process, the Manaaki Collection Box may evolve or change over time. Any updates will be communicated through our website and customer communications channels.
Can I support a different community group each time I shop?
How are donations shared between community groups?
Every token placed in the Manaaki Collection Box helps show which featured community group customers would like to support. Every two months, Bunnings donates a share of an $18,000 donation pool to the three community groups featured on the Manaaki Collection Box.
Every featured community group receives support. The donation is shared based on the number of tokens each group receives, with the group receiving the most customer support receiving the largest share of the donation pool. Currently, the group with the most tokens receives $10,000, the group with the second highest number of tokens receives $5,000, and the third group receives $3,000.
Which community groups are involved, and where can I find updates?
Every two months, three community groups are featured on the Manaaki Collection Box, giving customers the opportunity to support not-for-profit organisations making a positive difference in communities across Aotearoa. The featured community groups are selected based on a range of factors, including their community impact, alignment with our community focus areas, and the opportunity to support communities across Aotearoa.
You can find information about the current community groups on our community page and in-store. We'll also share updates on the community groups featured in the Manaaki Collection Box, the donations they receive, and the impact they're making through our website and Bunnings Rewards customer communications
I’m part of a community group. How can we get involved?
We’re always proud to support our communities. Community groups featured in the Manaaki Collection Box can encourage their supporters to shop in-store with Bunnings Rewards, scan their digital Bunnings card and place their token in the collection box for the community group they’d like to support.
While we're unable to include every organisation, we regularly review opportunities to support a range of community groups making a positive difference in communities across Aotearoa. To learn more about Bunnings community support, visit our community page or speak with your local Bunnings store team.
